Check-in times, as advised by your carrier, or in the airline’s timetable, are the latest times at which passengers can be accepted for travel, allowing the necessary time to complete all formalities. Flights cannot be held up for passengers arriving late, and no responsibility can be accepted in such cases.

Notice of Baggage Liability Limitations:
Liability for loss, delay, or damage to baggage is limited unless a higher value is declared in advance and additional charges are paid. For most international travel (including domestic portions of international journeys) the liability limit is approximately $9.07 per pound for checked baggage and $400 per passenger for unchecked baggage. For travel wholly between US points, federal rules require any limit on an airlines baggage liability to be at least $1250 per passenger. Excess valuation may be declared on certain types of articles. Some carriers assume no liability for fragile, valuable or perishable articles. Further information may be obtained from the carrier.

Passengers are usually permitted a free checked baggage allowance, the limit of which may differ by airline, class, and/or route. Extra charges may apply for checked baggage in excess of the permitted allowance.

Cabin Baggage:
Passengers are usually permitted a free cabin baggage allowance, the limit of which may differ by airline, class, route, and/or aircraft type. It is recommended that cabin baggage be kept to a minimum. Please ask your travel agent or airline for more specific information. Notice – Overbooking of Flights (U.S. only):
Airline flights may be overbooked, and there is a slight chance that a seat will not be available on a flight for which a person has a confirmed reservation. If the flight is overbooked, no one will be denied a seat until airline personnel first ask for volunteers willing to give up their reservation in exchange for a payment of the airlines choosing. If there are not enough volunteers the airline will deny boarding to other persons in accordance with its particular boarding priority. With few exceptions persons denied boarding involuntarily are entitled to compensation. The complete rules for the payment of compensation and each airlines boarding priorities are available at all airport ticket counters and boarding locations. Some airlines do not apply these consumer protections to travel from some foreign countries, although other consumer protections may be available. Check with the airline or your travel agent.

INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS

Reconfirmation Notice:
Some international carriers require reconfirmation of your reservations. Contact the transporting air carrier for the applicable requirements.

Advice to International Passengers on Limitation of Liability:
Passengers on a journey involving an ultimate destination or a stop in a country other than the country of origin are advised that the provisions of a treaty known as the Warsaw Convention may be applicable to the entire journey, including any portion entirely within the country of origin or destination. For such passengers on a journey to, from, or with an agreed stopping place in the United States of America, the Convention and special contracts of carriage embodied in applicable tariffs provide that the liability of certain carriers, parties to such special contracts, for death of or personal injury to passengers is limited in most cases to proven damages not to exceed US $75,000 per passenger, and that this liability up to such limit shall not depend on negligence on the part of the carrier. The limit of liability of US $75,000 above is inclusive of legal fees and costs except that in case of a claim brought in a state where provision is made for separate award of legal fees and costs, the limit shall be the sum of US $58,000 exclusive of legal fees and costs. For such passengers traveling by a carrier not a party to such special contracts or on a journey not to, from, or having an agreed stopping place in the United States of America, liability of the carrier for death or personal injury to passengers is limited in most cases to approximately US $10,000 or US$20,000. The names of carriers, parties to such special contracts, are available at all ticket offices of such carriers and may be examined on request. Additional protection can usually be obtained by purchasing insurance from a private company. Such insurance is not affected by any limitation of the carriers liability under the Warsaw Convention or such special contracts of carriage. For further information please consult your airline or insurance company representative. Certificates VOID if Detached Before Redemption (US ONLY)

International (Warsaw Convention) Notice:
If the passenger’s journey involves an ultimate destination or stop in a country other than the country of departure, the Warsaw convention may be applicable and the Convention governs and in most cases limits the liability of carriers for death or personal injury and for loss of or damage to baggage. See also the notices entitled
“Advice to International Passengers on Limitation of Liability” and “Notice of Baggage Liability Limitations”.

Fees Information

Please review the following information carefully from time to time as it is subject to change.

Introductory Note:
The information below is intended to explain what taxes and fees apply when you book your travel arrangements with us. We work hard to keep it simple and to try to minimize the lawyer speak. For example, when we list an amount as “taxes,” on the site, that sometimes means (as described below) a “tax recovery charge.” What is a “tax recovery charge?” Well, it is our travel suppliers, and not us, that have the obligation to collect any applicable taxes, governmental fees and other charges and remit them to the government. Therefore, what we’re collecting from you is a “tax recovery charge” that is equal to the amount we expect our travel suppliers to bill us so they can pay those taxes, governmental fees and other charges to the government. What does all this mean to you, as our customer? Probably not much. Just keep in mind that when you see the word “taxes” below or elsewhere on our site, it may mean “tax recovery charge.”

Air Transactions.
Most of the prices you’ll see displayed for airfare on our site include all applicable taxes and fees to be collected by the airline and remitted to the government. In other cases, sample prices are displayed where it may not yet be possible to calculate all such taxes and fees; for example, if we don’t yet know your departure city or the number of flight segments in your itinerary. In those cases, there will be a plus sign (+) after the displayed price (such as “Miami from $155+”) to let you know that certain additional taxes, governmental fees and other charges, apply, including but not limited to: (i) Airport Passenger Facility Charges of up to US$18, depending on itinerary; (ii) Federal Segment Fees of US$3.40 per segment (defined as a takeoff and a landing); (iii) the September 11th Security Fee of US$2.50 per segment (maximum charge per trip of US$5 one-way, US$10 round-trip); (iv) a Travel Facilities Tax of up to US$14.60 per round-trip for domestic segments beginning or ending in Alaska or Hawaii; and (v) for international itineraries, foreign and U.S. government-imposed charges of up to US$200 per round trip, depending on routing and destination. When you get to the check-out page, all of these amounts will have been calculated for you and you’ll know the total price of your ticket(s) before you make the decision to buy.
In a limited number of stand-alone air transactions, we serve as the merchant of record for credit card and payment purposes. In these situations, amounts displayed in the “Taxes and Fees” line consist of the amount that we expect the relevant airline to bill us for any applicable taxes, governmental fees and other charges that such airline must remit to the government, plus an additional Processing Service Fee that we retain as described below.
Of course, all airfares may be subject to additional restrictions, may not be available on all flights, and may change without notice. Specific fare rules are provided prior to purchase.

Hotel Transactions.
We market hotel rooms on the site under two different business models, depending on the preferences of our hotel suppliers. The first is the traditional or “postpaid” model, where you book a room through us at published rates and you pay for that room, plus any applicable taxes, governmental fees and other charges directly to the hotel at check-out.
The second business model is the “prepaid” model (also known as the “net rate” or “merchant” model), where we collect the full amount from you up front and handle the payments to the hotel ourselves. We label the “prepaid” model rooms as “GoodBuy” rooms on our site because they are covered by our Guarantee. Amounts displayed in the “Taxes and Fees” line for GoodBuy hotel transactions consist of the amount that we expect the relevant hotel to bill us for any applicable taxes, governmental fees and other charges, plus an additional Processing Service Fee that we retain as described below.

Car Transactions.
Amounts displayed in the “Taxes & Fees” line for Total Price car rentals represent the amount of taxes, governmental fees and other charges payable by you directly to the car rental agency when you return your rental car. In the case of car suppliers that do not provide Total Price information, these taxes, governmental fees and other charges will be calculated and displayed to you prior to check-out.

Cruise Transactions.
Amounts displayed in the “Taxes and Fees” line for cruise bookings represent the amount of taxes, governmental fees and other charges payable by you to the cruise line when you book your cruise with us.

Travel Packages.
Unless otherwise noted, prices shown for travel packages are in USD for one adult, and if the travel package includes a hotel, based upon double occupancy. Prices are subject to change based upon your choice of travel dates, number of travelers, departure city, and your choice of flight, hotels or other items, and may require a minimum nights’ stay. Amounts listed in the “Taxes and Fees” line consist of the amount that we expect the relevant suppliers to bill us for any applicable taxes, governmental fees and other charges, plus an additional Processing Service Fee that we retain as described below.

Additional Information.
Information regarding taxes, governmental fees and other charges on any travel-related transactions not discussed above will be calculated and displayed to you prior to check-out. Also, remember that you may incur other charges while traveling that are not payable to us and are not included in the quoted price, such as hotel extra-person or extra-bed charges, resort fees, gratuities, hotel energy surcharges, parking fees, telephone fees, room service, movies, mini-bar, or rental car insurance, gasoline, and other incidentals.

Service Fees:
We impose certain service fees as outlined below.

Facilitation Fee.
We act as an intermediary between travel suppliers and consumers for the booking of and payment for travel accommodations. To facilitate the provision of travel accommodations to consumers, we enter into agreements with various travel suppliers which govern the booking of and payment for such accommodations through this web site. The price listed for travel accommodations includes the amount(s) paid to the relevant travel supplier(s) in connection with facilitating your travel arrangements, as well as a fee for facilitating such travel arrangements, which we retain.

Online Air Transaction Service Fee.
A non-refundable fee of $5.00 to $15.00 may be charged for each air transaction. The fee varies based on airfare, carrier, destination, and other factors. To the extent any online air transaction service fee applies, it will be included in the airfare and itemized prior to purchase. The current maximum number of tickets per transaction is six. Purchasing more than six tickets begins a new transaction with its own online air transaction service fees. This online air transaction service fee applies to both e-tickets and paper tickets. There is no online air transaction service fee on air transactions that are a part of a travel package.

Offline Air Transaction Service Fee.
In addition to the Online Air Transaction Service Fee, a non-refundable fee of US$25 per passenger (up to 3 passengers) is charged for airline tickets booked by telephone via our toll-free number. Reservations for departure in 24 hours or fewer cannot be booked by telephone.

Processing Service Fee.
Certain service fees are charged for processing your travel reservation through our system. These are often bundled into the Taxes and Fees amount in order to maintain the opaque nature of the “prepaid” rate, as required by our contracts with our suppliers.

Paper Ticket Shipping Fees.
Most air transactions can be fulfilled using e-tickets. However, if an airline does not offer e-ticketing, or if you request paper tickets, there will be a shipping fee assessed of US$19.95 per transaction for second business day delivery; US$24.95 per transaction for next business day delivery; or US$39.95 per transaction for international delivery. Airlines may assess additional charges for issuance of paper tickets and additional charges may apply to Sabre Agency Ticketing. We will bill any such paper ticket fees to the credit card or debit card provided in the booking process.

Fees for Changes/Cancellations/Refunds.
Itinerary changes, cancellations and refunds, if permitted for the airfare, may carry a fee of up to US$150 that may vary by market, carrier and specific fare rule.

YOUR TOTAL PRICE FOR ANY TRANSACTION, INCLUDING ALL AMOUNTS PAYABLE TO US, WILL ALWAYS BE DISPLAYED TO YOU PRIOR TO PURCHASE.
